BoxMyDorm.com entered an agreement with Penn State University's Association of Residence Hall Students (ARHS) today, that recognizes the company as the university's official storage provider.
BoxMyDorm is a young, fast-growing student-storage and shipping company that originated at Penn State in 2005 and has since expanded to serve 10 universities across the country.
"Penn State is very selective and cautious of whom they allow to work with their students," said Dan Abrahamsen, BoxMyDorm's president and co-founder. "Having their approval is a remarkable asset for us and shows Penn State's approval of our service."
Penn State has 36,613 undergraduates of which 28 percent are out of state. The Association of Residence Hall Students (ARHS) is a student group that works closely with Housing and Residence Life to represent the needs of the 14,000 on-campus students at University Park.
The AHRS endorsement allows BoxMyDorm to offer its services to Penn State students more easily, as Penn State does not allow advertising on campus without sponsorship of a university-recognized student group.
Penn State mailings to parents will explain that ARHS, with Penn State's approval, is sponsoring BoxMyDorm for their summer storage needs. Furthermore, ARHS recognizes the outstanding quality of BoxMyDorm's services through the agreement and will recommend BoxMyDorm?s services to students.
"No other provider is able to offer Penn State students the level of service we afford to their students," said Abrahamsen. "We handle thousands of students moves smoothly each season due to our proprietary web based system and our customer service center. Our proprietary technology and customer service center empowers local professional moving companies to deliver the kind of convenience and care that our customers have grown to expect from us."
